About Us
 Lisa Schuman is the owner and head groomer of Island Grooming. She has 35 years of grooming experience. 7 years after apprenticing in New Jersey, she opening her own business and has never looked back since! A Sanibel local since 2004, Lisa is known by many for her art in doggy beautifying.Every year she attends at least one grooming convention, like the Barkleigh Groom Expo in Hershey, Pennsylvania, to stay up to date with techniques, products, and problem preventions. "Dog grooming has always been my passion, I couldn't be happier in any other career path." says Lisa. Her love for animals shows gorgeously through her work.
Madi Schuman, daughter of Lisa, is the bather at the shop. Madi has been working officially since July of 2010. Madi graduated from Coronado high school in 2009 at the age of 17 and was valedictorian. After moving to Delaware to begin college, she was accepted for an internship at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida. After the internship she came home to help Lisa at Island Grooming. Although she doesn't have as much experience as her mother, Madi says growing up in the business is a definite plus. |
